SIX

From an ESG strategy to a sharing philosophy

When it comes to ESG strategies, engaging your employees is key. Yet you can absolutely have fun doing it. For SIX, we have designed a multimedia platform for long-term employee engagement that inspires people to get involved.

To SIX, ESG is by no means a new topic. The company has been investing in sustainable projects for quite some time. Therefore, the communication efforts surrounding the new ESG strategy needed to be more than just a short-lived campaign. We wanted them to prove a natural extension of existing communications. That's why we implemented a digital platform on the corporate intranet that informs about ESG issues, encourages participation, and continues to evolve. In other words, a place to discover, share and engage.

DISCOVER, SHARE and ENGAGE

The platform is made up of three areas: DISCOVER is where employees access content on key ESG issues within the company and beyond. SHARE is where they are given a voice. They are invited to discuss current topics and suggest improvements in a feedback box (two features that have been well received). On ENGAGE they find invitations to events and success stories.

Gamification encourages continued learning

The platform is not just interactive: it is designed as a game. Employees automatically collect points by reading articles, answering questions and sharing their thoughts. New topics are introduced as levels, and on their dashboard, participants can track their own progress as well as that of the entire company.

We have only just begun

The concept of the platform is designed to grow thanks to scalable modules. With each new topic, the database of knowledge broadens. Over time, the archive of articles, videos and user-generated content will continue to expand and be updated, making room for new formats and authors. The SHARE section is particularly important. The wealth of input collected from employees not only offers valuable insights into how the team is responding to the new measures. It can also be evaluated on an ongoing basis and incorporated into the further development of the ESG strategy. Because when it comes to ESG, employee engagement is not the only imperative. Giving the team a voice and listening to them is just as important.
