WILKHAHN

Office on Stage: a Magazine Series for Wilkhahn

Wilkhahn approached us wanting to showcase not just its products, but also how they contribute to modern work environments. Together, we created «Office on Stage», a print magazine that combines know-how, the latest trends, and design.

Strictly speaking, 'magazine' isn’t quite the right word. What we developed in close collaboration with Wilkhahn is more comprehensive and is designed to serve as a lasting reference. «Office on Stage» is an ongoing series published twice a year, with each issue focusing on a relevant theme related to the office of the future. The first edition, «Corporate Hybrid», is divided into five acts, each of which illustrates a different office setting, from the boardroom to the workshop. All of these scenarios are inspired by Wilkhahn’s modular product lines.

As some content deserves more than a fleeting glance, we intentionally chose print, a format that brings the brand to life in a tangible way.

From the mood board to the stage:
We were involved in the process from the outset. Working alongside the client, we developed the narrative structure and created five ideal spatial scenarios. Our motion designer Matt first brought these settings to life as 3D models, and Eva Revolver later illustrated them.

In addition to the conceptual work, we contributed to the design and editorial aspects, right through to producing the final printed product.

Design with transferability
During the design process, we carefully refined the brand's appearance. This involved expanding the restrained colour palette, clarifying the visual language, developing a new illustration style and creating a more spacious grid layout. These changes can also be carried over to other brand touchpoints. Work on the second issue of «Office on Stage» is already underway.
