Beni lives life at his own pace. In the office, he’s the unhurried, analytical one, often so deep in the zone that we have to wave our arms in front of him to ask him out for lunch. But in his spare time, he’s the one who sets the pace. He’s the drummer in a surf rock band he’s been playing with for a decade. Being a musician has taught him about the importance of timing - a skill that serves him well as a motion designer. For Beni, animation is the culmination of his two great passions: image and sound. But he didn’t know it at first. As a media designer he first learnt the intricacies of print, before discovering the world of agencies and doing a bachelor’s degree in visual communication. Looking back, Beni sees his journey as a perfectly timed ten-year plan - it all worked out exactly the way he wanted it to. And perhaps that’s the beauty of setting your own pace: You end up in the right place at the right time.
